About Fontainebleau: the back story

The Palace and Park of Fontainebleau, listed by UNESCO since 1981, lie south-east of Paris, at the heart of the Forest of Fontainebleau.

Getting there

From the Gare de Lyon to Fontainebleau-Avon, then by bus to the palace.

The palace

The royal apartments and the Napoleon rooms; the Cour des Adieux.

Trains run from the Gare de Lyon to Fontainebleau-Avon; buses connect to the palace.

Our advice: combine the palace with a walk in the forest.
